Prof. Dr. Gabriela Riemekasten is the Director of Clinic for Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at the University OF Schleswig Holstein, Germany. Gabriela has a special interest in connective tissue diseases (systemic sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, etc.). She is an internationally renowned scientists in the fields of autoimmune diagnostics and GPCR research with numerous publications on her research focusing on functional autoantibodies, regulatory T-cells, regulation of the immune system and the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases, improving therapies, in particular for systemic sclerosis.
Prior to becoming tenure professor in Lübeck she was holding various international positions at leading institutions such as UCLA Los Angeles and the Charitee Berlin. During her career she won several prestigious awards for her scientific contributions in the field of inflammation and autoimmune research.
In a most recent role Gabriela is a member of the Executive Group and Steering Committee at the German Excellence Cluster on “Precision Medicine in Chronic Inflammation“.
